OSCE Delivers Workshop for Representatives of Youth Councils PDF  | Print |  E-mail

The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina delivered a workshop for the representatives of Youth Councils from the Municipalities of Cazin, Vogošća, Domaljevac-Šamac, Goražde, Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje, Orašje and Mostar, in the period from 11 until 13 July 2012. As part of the three-day program, the discussion centred upon youth activism in the digital environment, current and future activities of the Youth Councils. The methodology for monitoring and lobbying local authorities, known as the WATCHDOG initiative, and the Youth friendliness index (criteria, verification means, scoring) were presented.

Mirza Ustamujić, Member of the House of Representatives at the FBiH Parliament and the President of the Commission for Coordination of Youth Issues of FBiH, spoke about youth activism and its prospects in BiH, and the representatives of the Institute for Youth Development KULT talked about the functioning of youth councils, their rights and obligations under the Youth Law, previous experiences and challenges to be faced in the upcoming period.
